Kwang-hee
works as a librarian, professor and councelor at South Baylo University in Anaheim, a school for oriental medicine, www.southbaylo.edu. She teaches (psychology, research methodology, and others) and is a licensed accupuncturist. She holds a PhD from Claremont School of Theology in pastoral care and counseling and a Master of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary, as well as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine from South Baylo Universtiy. Kwang-hee came to the U.S. in 1989 from her home town of Daegu (Korea) to study for five years. Well, Jochen is lucky that she stayed!

Jochen  was a program associate with the American Friends Service Committee (Quaker) in Los Angeles, and is now a registered nurse in a cardiac step-down unit at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. He continues his studies towards a Master of Science in Nursing at Azusa Pacific Univeristy. He holds a Master of Divinity from the Pasadena branch of the San Francisco Theological Seminary. He finds Process theology particularly relevant as a Quaker. After he recieved a MBA from the Munich University and studied theology for a year he went to Hawai'i in 1999 to windsurf and intern as a chaplain - and soon gave it up to study more theology and engage in peace and social justice work. Guess who led him onto the spiritual path?

We met while training in hospital chaplaincy at Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu. Both of us find great joy in prayer and in meeting and working with friends and spiritual activists and teachers. We serve as Resident Friends at Orange Grove Friends Meeting (Quaker) in Pasadena, CA, www.ogmm.org. When we seek a pause from studies and work we love to retreat - and to advance - during a Nothing Day.
