Sustainable Help for North Koreans! Instead of having a wedding registration we kindly asked to consider a tax deductible gift to the the North Korea Humanitarian Aid program of the American Friends Service Committee (Quaker). Our wedding is over but those of you who would still like to contribute please do so using the informaiton below. As Kwang-hee is Korean and Jochen grew up in a then, too, divided country we want to share the joy of our wedding with suffering people in northern Korea. The American Friends Service Committee believes that peaceful reunification can only come through the strengths of the people. In this light, AFSC has been facilitating agricultural projects in northern Korea as well as visiting exchanges. Jochen has worked with AFSC in Los Angeles, and both Kwang-hee and Jochen have volunteered on AFSC/Quaker supported social justice and education farms in Hawai’i. Last not least, Jochen’s parents received food from AFSC during times of hunger after WWII. Learn more about AFSC’s North Korea program at If you so choose please mark your donation "North Korea - in Honor of Strack Park Wedding" and send it to: Selma Plascencia American Friends Service Committee 634 S Spring, 3rd Fl Los Angeles, CA 90014 or contact her at (213) 489-1900 or splascencia@afsc.org |
